Summary | 0000514: otf font files cannot be used directly anymore
Description | I was having troubles with this before but never managed to track it down, and then I think there was another issue submitted about font files that got resolved, so I never reported it. But now that I'm messing with font files again, I'm able to use ttf files without installing the font, by specifying the name in the balloon, and using the \f[name] command. However, this does not seem to be working for otf files. My friend is also trying the same thing, and can't get otf files working. SSP/2.6.12 Windows NT 10.0.19043

Please tell me (or send me) problematic otf font. Basically, file structure of ttf and otf are almost identical, so I think there are other programmatic causes. |
|
Apologies for the delay, I meant to send this a while ago. This is the font in question https://www.fontspace.com/el-messiri-font-f39852 I currently am using the Medium style, but I believe my friend was having trouble with the other styles as well |

Please try 2.6.13 |
|
No luck with this change, the font is still not showing up if I try to load it directly from the file. |

Update: we've found a ttf font now that is also having issues: https://www.dafont.com/xfiles1.font It's behaving very strangely, though it's difficult to pin down exactly how. I've been unable to consistently replicate the strange behaviors, it just seems to happen at random. I currently have the font installed, and using a script like "\f[name,X-Files.ttf]Test" in script input does not display the font, whether I include the font file in with the ghost or the balloon. Though, strangely, at one point in testing it *was* working, but now I can't get it back into a working state and I'm not sure what's changed. My friend also said that at one point, they had a menu open, and without interacting with it, it suddenly switched to the correct font. They have not been able to replicate this since then, and it has gone back to not using the font. SSP/2.6.19 Windows NT 10.0.19043 |

Please try 2.6.20 |
